In fact, I believe we should celebrate birthdays always.
Maybe we identify it through promotion, when our child's born, adopting the dog, cat or other pet we always wanted. Perhaps it's realizing a dream to attend the Eras Tour with Taylor Swift, or attending a Beyonce concert.
Happy heavenly birthday to our daughter, Corrie! This is her third birthday in heaven, and it marks two-and-a-half-years since Corrie earned her wings. For your birthday, I wish I could give you the 4th of July, fried chicken packed away in the basket, although they say, “You shouldn’t eat that” these days, and homemade peach ice cream kind of feeling.
I dream of the airplane with blue wings, Corrie's cake, and coffee with cream.
Today is Corrie's sixth birthday, and her first in heaven.
Corrie wouldn't want us to leave her grave undecorated. She'd be out there with me adding ribbons and, probably, arguing with me about why we can't leave feather boas on the gravesites.
