Fear Not What You Write, a Poem

Fear not the words of men and women who say,
"I have money and jewels to make thine words die away."
Know your truth in all things. Be not afraid.
Should they say, "I have castles upon the land,"
reply, "But I possess the heart from the lion's den."
For all those know me by my writer's hand
knows only truth comes from my pen.
For those who say, "I am so wise, and
know different ways," write unto them,
"but all the goods of the world will
soon fade away.

Should they glorify their own world, simply say, "I
am the instrument through which truth lets out,
and words release ink lasting longer than gold."
Throwing money at such a thing will exchange
hands, and of the next world, die away. The words
and hate of this world will dissipate for there are
flowers growing on a far off mountain before the
soul arrives to the gate, and beyond the gate, I
know a little girl who sneaks a trumpet away
from an angel resting after music is played.

Fear not the words you write or why, but of
course take a wiser eye as you cast words upon
the page. But write lines like currents in rivers flow.
Let them gush through a mountain side, and slow
to a spring when the forest opens wide.
Fear not the words you will write. It's from your
courage your words take flight.
